The Dragster 800 is based on MV's 800cc three-cylinder powerplant and the Brutale chassis platform. The key upgrade from the standard Dragster 800 model is a significant power increase, from 125 horsepower to 140 horsepower, with a corresponding increase in torque from 60 foot-pounds to 63.5 foot-pounds. The boost is due to a fully redesigned airbox and optimized exhaust system, along with the addition of a second set of shower-style fuel injectors; the fuel tank has been reshaped accordingly, and the rev limit raised to 13,200 rpm from 13,000 rpm.

The Brutale 800 RR features the same upgrades to the standard Brutale 800 as the Dragster RR, as well as MV's second-generation MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System), with an Eldor EM2.0 ECU and Mikuni ride-by-wire; as previously, four mappings of Sport, Normal, Rain and Custom are available. The eight-level traction control system now has model-specific mapping. Also new for both bikes is a slipper clutch and an EAS 2.0 quickshifter that allows full-throttle upshifts and downshifts.

The new Stradale is heavily based on the Rivale and feature's MV's three-cylinder 800 engine; the chassis retains the Rivale's long-travel suspension but has an extended wheelbase (by 30mm), a 10mm-lower seat height and a more elaborate windscreen. Power has been reduced from the Rivale to 115 hp, while fuel capacity has been increased to 4.2 gallons.
