Jim lost his battle with cancer on Friday July 30, 2021 at the age of 57. He bravely fought with everything he had until the end! Proud father of Robert A. (Kelly) and Michael S. (Special Lady Bethany) and the precious granddaughter Brooke. Brother and best friend of John (Lori) and Kelley Gray (the late Bill Gray). Beloved uncle of Catherine Borden Gray Weisman (Kyle), the late Caroline Borden Gray Hickey and Jason (Traci) Lukert. Also loved by other relatives and many dear friends.
Jim was an Eagle Scout, earned his MSOE bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and his MBA from DeVry University. Our Jimmy was everything to the family. He was the type of guy who literally gave his shirt off of his own back. Totally and unequivocally giving everyone their time or talent. He had so much joie de vivre. Be it downhill skiing, off-road motorcycling, CPR lessons or the tour of the Thursday evening ski patrol crew in Little Switzerland or his love for shooting sports. He loved everything. He even rode his motorcycle all the way to the Arctic Circle! He had a very special love for his granddaughter. Jimmy got it right. Although the cancer devastated his body, it could not touch his mind or soul. F * ck cancer.
Visit to the funeral home on Thursday, August 5, 2021, 4-7 p.m. Christian burial mass in ST. MARY’S VISITATION CATHOLIC PARISH, 1260 Church Street, Elm Grove, WI 53122 on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Marienfriedhof. Instead of flowers, take Jim’s lead and “Pay if Forward” anonymously by collecting the table for dinner in his honor.
